JANE O'CALLAGHAN ART

I have been drawing since I can remember, but my passion for art really took off in my teenage years when I became heavily influenced by the tattoo world. There was this stark contrast and unapologetic boldness about the tattoo art style that just pulled me in and hasn't let go since.

Art has a powerful ability to bring people together, and that is why I thoroughly enjoy creating portraits of loved ones who have passed or of cherished pets. My main goal is to capture the essence of the subject and to show that the eyes really are the 'windows to the soul.'

My favourite media to work with are graphite pencils, fine tip pens, black Indian ink and acrylic paints. Even though the dark aesthetic of black and white artwork will always be my go-to, sometimes there's nothing like the vibrancy of colour to bring across a vitality, an emotion and atmosphere. ​
